About The Event

The year was 1994. Six Friends first sat down for coffee at Central Perk, and Forest opened his box of chocolates. Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan dominated headlines at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, and Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as South Africa's first black president. A new company called Amazon made it easier to buy books from home. And on the corner of 37th and Navajo Street, some local artists discovered the bones of an old abandoned nickelodeon movie theater being used as an appliance storage warehouse. Together they worked to turn it into the nonprofit Bug Performance and Media Art Center, also known as The Bug Theatre, which became part of the burgeoning Navajo Street Arts District.
